Each corner has its own lock, and there are nice looking plastic covers for aesthetics. The oem roof rack system is very strong and well designed. It is well designed and attaches easily to the forward bars.

I have had these on and off my 1998 328i for the past few years, mainly for mountain biking trips, but they did haul a mattress and box springs at one point too. These are used, so there are a few scratches and a bit of dirt here and there, but that said, they are in excellent usable condition and look fantastic when mounted. The offer will include everything pictured as well as a set of keys for the corner locks.

You are looking at a complete crossbar, roof rack system for all Bmw E36 sedans, complete with aftermarket wind deflector. The aftermarket inno wind deflector is included and is a must have, as without it, the bars howl like a banshee above about 40 mph. If you take a look at what's available for E36 aftermarket roof racks, you'll find that a basic setup costs 3 does not look nearly as good, makes contact with the roof paint, and has no wind deflector.

The crossbars hook in and lock under the door trim and do not make any contact with the paint.
