Details:

This is a hinged cover for the rapid fix point. Search for Thule lb50 square bar and you'll find many listings, including mine assuming they haven't sold, bars that fit these mounts. These utilize rapid fix point, the rack attachment system built in to many E36s and E39's. Thule roof mounts for Bmw 3 and 5 series E36, E39, part.

Lift the hinged cover. Place the tabs on base of mount in to exposed area. No rust and very few blemishes. Excellent condition.

The mounts i'm selling give car a more finished look. You'll find four slots in the on roof of car, just above doors. Includes the TRX hex wrench required for installation.

Thule does make a more current model that fits the car, I could be wrong, but it apparently not use rapid fix point system. Screw them into the Bmw with included bolts and TRX hex wrench. The version I saw include a metal tab that hooks beneath roof in door frame. See the picture of my car with complete rack and some garage sale bikes.

Install is easy. After doing it a few times I could have the rack on or off car in 10 minutes. It doesn't appear to interfere with the door but is unattractive when you open.
