However, both designs are rated by Volvo with the same carrying capacity, 100kg 220 lbs, and both designs will mount on any of the v70 model's, including r and XC. This set is the lower profile set supplied as an option with any v70 model except for XC, either from the factory or as a dealer mounted accessory. You are buying on a used original Volvo accessory set of roof rails.

Roof rail sets were supplied both from the factory and as a dealer mounted accessory. The XC set stands higher and has a different appearance, most apparent in its middle double post, and was only Volvo as standard for XC model's. No headliner removal is required. Only the items shown in my photos 2 through 4 are included, and no accessory carriers or accessory cross bars load bars are a part of this basic offer.

Complete, detailed and very useful installation instructions included. All of the following items are also included the rubber pads which isolate the rails from the roof surface, and the rubber gaskets which seal the securing screws to the roof and prevent leakage. According to the oem installation instructions which I will include, these moldings must be removed to access the anchor nuts, and sections cut out to allow the rails to be bolted into place.

Installation is straightforward, as there are three sets of two anchor nuts each on each side of the roof, underneath the drip moldings. This set is very similar to the euro rails set commonly seen on most 850 and some earlier v70 wagons, but is designed specifically to fit the model year 2001 and later.

Its condition is very good, with some scuffing, chips, and fading. The kit includes all parts, including all required screws and plastic covers, needed to install these items on any 2001 to 2007 Volvo v70, v70 2.

Replacement molding clips obtain from your Volvo dealer are usually needed when the moldings are removed.
