I had to fiddle a bit with the one end cap to click in properly, had to hold the one plastic piece in place in order for it to lock into place. The cross bars were two different lengths, for the Volvo they both could have been the longer length, vehicle is the same width front and back, I used the shorter one on the back as recommended.
