Details:

I've included one picture to show how the clips engage the rack. It was gently used for a few years to transport backpack camping gear to Porsche club events while my small children actually occupied the jump seats in the back of the car the rack is use and certainly shows the patina of it's years. I have made no attempt to polish or buff out the surface for these pictures so I suspect the finish could be significantly improved with the proper rubbing compound and some good wax.

It was purchased in 1975 for use on my personal 911 and has been in my possession the entire time. One of the attaching clips for the rack is missing and search though I have, I cannot locate it in my stash of stuff. It does have the tiny surface pitting you would expect to see in a chrome plated surface after nearly 40 years but is absolutely presentable in its current condition.

It would be the perfect accessory for your vintage air cooled classic. The clips are simple metal brackets bent to nest with the roof rack leg reinforcements and a new piece could be easily replicated. There is one small scuff shown in the 6th picture that I suspect could also be rubbed out but I chose represent the piece as it is and not as it could be.

I have attempted to show the actual surface condition as well as possible in the pictures. The design of the rack certainly enhances the classic 911 profile and looks exactly correct when installed. The color of the material was silver to blend with the finish on the rack. This offer is for a vintage amco brand chrome roof rack for 1965 through 1989 Porsche 911 coupes.

A couple of the legs still have the original vinyl tips and the others were lost over the ages. The legs of the rack that contact the drip rail were manufactured with a vinyl coating similar to the material used on the handles of needle nosed pliers and vise grips.
