Replacement molding clips obtain from your Volvo dealer are usually needed when the moldings removed. This set is very similar to the euro rails commonly seen on most 850 and some earlier v70 wagons, but designed specifically fit model year 2001 later.

This set was removed from a 2005 v70 2 5t wagon, and is dark gray. Shipped with the rails. The XC set stands higher and has a different appearance, most apparent in its middle double post, was only Volvo as standard for model's.

According to the oem installation instructions which I will include, these moldings must be removed access anchor nuts, and sections cut out allow rails bolted into place. This set is the lower profile supplied as an option with any v70 model except for XC, either from factory or a dealer mounted accessory. Roof rail sets were supplied both from the factory and as a dealer mounted accessory. Installation is straightforward, as there are three sets of two anchor nuts each on side the roof, underneath drip moldings.

However, both designs are rated by Volvo with the same carrying capacity, 100kg 220 lbs, and will mount on any of v70 model's, including r XC. If you want to install the same type of rails as Volvo would have supplied for your vehicle from factory, this is set. All of the following items are also included: rubber pads which isolate rails from roof surface, and gaskets seal securing screws to prevent leakage. A new set of roof rails costs almost 500 from the dealer.

The crossbars are installed with a TRX 30 security bit, obtain at most local hardware stores. No headliner removal is required.
